Wedding Bells: Part 7 – Our wedding day {A recollection of memories}

So our wedding day has come and gone! Despite the long hours (I woke up at 230am!), it was very much a memorable day for us both. 3 weeks on, I am still overwhelmed by emotions, both joy and gratitude, that in spite of certain hiccups here and there, the day proceeded smoothly and happily!

We have not collected our actual day wedding photos from our bridal studio, so i could only remember bits and pieces of the day based on my memories. Yet, all I have are definitely sweet memories of that day!

Gatecrashing

That’s definitely the first highlight of the day. 1 groom and his bridegrooms trying to outwit the bridemaids. I was spying on them all the while via the videocam from my handphone all the while. And I am very surprised that Mister managed to spot my lipstick mark on his first guess! Well done Mister and your 兄弟s!

Oh there was hiccup #1: the lace trimmings on my wedding gown partially fell off just before the arrival of the groom.

Tea ceremony

All I remembered was that I became 舅妈 and 婶婶 overnight >.<

Solemnisation

Oh yes, my most-anticipated segment of the day! But hiccup #2: we left the wedding gown at home. My godfather had to speed down to Sentosa to deliver my gown in the end.

Walking down the aisle was touching, with my favourite song “From this moment” by Shania Twain playing in the background, with Daddy by my side, with Mister waiting for me right in front <3 Thankfully, no tripping over of the gown.

丢花球

What can I say, the one whom we wanted to catch the bouquet caught the bouquet in the end. Haha with my excellent throwing skills and accomodating bridesmaids lols!

Lunch reception

Buffet at Shutters gathered much positive feedback from our guests. The staff was really attentive too! They made sure I was served food regularly, but there were too many things to take note of and too little time to eat. There was the wedding cake from Pine Garden (I insisted on having a 100% real wedding cake). Alas, I didn’t get to try it on the actual day. And champagne popping with 3 rounds of yum seng too!

Drinks party

Hiccup #3: It started pouring in the late afternoon. Nonetheless, it’s a blessing in disguise, as we changed our venue of our night event to Shutters restaurant again. Hosting the drinks indoor was a good idea in fact. Our guests had comfortable seats to sit and there was aircon too! The ambience of the restaurant was also in line with the gold theme of the night. What’s there not to love about our party!

Mister and I are really pleased that our wedding turned out just the way we wanted it to be! Not quite the conventional wedding typical of Singaporeans, but we did achieve our main objective of celebrating this special day of ours with our family and friends in our own ways. Thankful to everyone who have been exceptionally supportive of us in this wedding preparation journey!

As for our honeymoon to Paris, it definitely deserves a separate post on its own! ^_^
