.Mad.Season.1.:.Building.Series.Ep.7.

H~E~L~L~O~O~O~~~ *creepy tone*
Welcome back, and to the 7th Episode of Building Series in Mad Season 1~~~
Have you built something using your own hands lately~?~?~?~

For today~~~
Ving recently bought this 3D Crystal Skull Jigsaw Puzzle to try out~~~
1st thought: I’m sure it’s not gonna be that difficult, since there are only 49 pieces for this puzzle.
Here’s Adios with the Skull that’s waiting to be fixed up.
I didn’t even have the chance to finish saying “Chicken feet!”, to be proven that my initial thought had been so wrong.
Adios ‘supervising’ me~~~
After a much longer time than what I’d initially expected I’d have taken to finish fixing it, I managed to get the whole thingy out~~~~~~~~~ *shagged out face*
T~A~D~A~H~H~H~~~
Here’s another picture which Adios took with The Skull.
Verdict:
Everyone should still go buy and give it a try~!~!~
It’s kinda like a stimulus for the brain ha~ha~ha~
Rather fun and challenging~~~

Do stay tuned for the 7th Episode of Beauty Series which will be out on Wednesday~~~
Kindly support us~~~~~ Thank you~~~~~~ *caresses a skull with an evil look*

.bougie.collection.(.part.1.).

Ving loves scented candles.
Actually, more of collecting them than burning them.
I’m a sucker for nice packaging and detailing, so will be attracted to items that score in these aspects.

Since I can’t keep the candles for too long, I shall have to burn them.
Many people actually think it’s a waste of money to buy scented candles to burn.
I don’t deny, to a certain extend it actually is, and moreover most that caught my eyes aren’t exactly cheap (not gonna state the prices lol).
But I really like them! Haha anyways not like I buy them super often.
The candle holders are nice to keep for future display purposes too, or in case I can use them for any projects.
So yeps! Here are the ones which I have in my collection to date.

This is the very first candle which I bought during my trip to Hong Kong in 2011.
It was a collaboration between Comme des Garcons x Monocle.
I love the ultra black candle holder.
The scent smells of cypress, cedar, thyme, pine, and treemoss.
It isn’t exactly a combi that will appeal to the mass, but it kinda smells like nature.
I bought this Jonathan Ward (London) organic soy candle during the same Hong Kong trip, at this eco-friendly shop.
I’d forgotten the name of the shop, but I remembered it’s situated on the same stretch of Gough Street (Central) as this other interesting shop called Homeless.
It has a warm and woody scent that smells of cypress and berries.
I bought this Beckham x Price’s candle from online after knowing about it from Bagaholicboy’s website some time back.
A certain amount from the sale of the candle will actually be donated to The David & Victoria Beckham Children’s Charity.
It is made with vegetable wax, and has this feminine and floral scent of tuberose with a tinge of jasmine.
I was burning the last bits of it while doing up this post.
I really like Cire Trudon‘s candles (France), but they are so expensive. *faints*
For now, I only know of Surrender store selling these candles in Singapore (not sure if anywhere else carries them too).
A friend of mine was ultra nice to actually give me one for my birthday 2 years back!
I got to pick any scent which I fancy, so I ended up choosing the Dada.
It was apparently one of the more popular scents, smelling of eucalyptus, tea, and mint.
I’ve only burned it twice I think.
Astier de Villatte (France) makes very very pretty terra cotta kitchenware pieces, that are washed white yet with obvious baroque details (you can click on the name to link to its website). The pieces are all handmade individually, hence there are no 2 pieces which are exactly the same.
Apart from kitchenware, they make really nice-smelling candles too, naming them after different states/countries.
Delphes has a floral and powdery scent, a combination of field flowers, orange blossoms, almond flower and tinge of white honey.
I can’t bear to burn it yet!
For now, I only know of Strangelets and Tangs selling these candles in Singapore.
Recently while shopping at Franc Franc, I was attracted by the packaging of these candles that are on sale.
I had to get them! Haha of ‘cos they smell nice too.
Franc Franc’s homeware items aren’t exactly cheap, but their different ranges of candles are still considered affordable.
Haven’t had a chance to burn them yet. Hopefully their scents do last longer.
No. 4: Midnight & Jasmine
No. 5: Pure Musk
There are still many other brands of scented candles which I wanna try + add to my collection.
Like Diptyque, Jo Malone, True Grace, L’Artisan Parfumeur, Molton Brown, Penhaligon’s, and the list goes on… … …
Will do another post in future when I acquire more candles!!! ^_^

.books.

Ving recently bought some new books from Prologue’s sale! Let me share them with you…

Finally owned my first illustration book from 幾米 (Jimmy Liao, Taiwanese)!
I have always liked his child-like drawings, which actually kind of give me a calm feeling whenever I see them.
Shall slowly collect the rest of the illustration books which he had published.
I have waited for long for the movie to be out, which it will finally be come end August.
Before the show which I had highly anticipated started screening, here are 2 books from the movie to keep me occupied for the time being!
(The ‘book’ in the second image is more of like a postcards collection for the movie.)
I super love the textured cover of this book!! Couldn’t resist from getting it.
It is a dark book though haha… (I am not called Dark Lord for nothing. *evil laughter*)
This series written by Haruki Murakami was not newly bought though.
Being not strong in my Japanese, I got the Mandarin-translated ones instead.
I usually prefer Japanese novels being translated into Mandarin to English, because I can still imagine a strong Japanese feel to the writings.
English-translated ones kind of lose this Japanese feel which I will look for in such books, and simply became “English style” instead.
Having said that, I have only read Book 1 of this 1Q84 series.
It took me a rather long time to finish it, as it was so intense I could not read past a certain number of pages each time.
Till now I still have yet to get started on Book 2.
I wonder when I will. >.<”
Have you read any books lately? Do start on one if you have not.
It is therapeutic!
