.let’s.all.practise.recycling.

As my heading suggests, everyone of us should incorporate recycling into our daily routine.
Personally, I’ve been doing that since I-forgot-from-when-onwards.
During my childhood times, my dad had already drilled this into my mind, be it through his own actions or words.
It’s a good thing that nowadays more and more people are aware of how the 3Rs (Reuse / Reduce / Recycle) can benefit our dear Earth.
So much so that we now have organisations going around collecting recycling materials every fortnightly, or having recycling containers being placed at strategic places around our country at our convenience.

For my block, the organisation comes by every fortnight on Friday mornings to collect our recycling materials, plus give us new bags to contain more recycling stuff for the next round of collection.
My family has since been even more diligent in sorting out the different recycling materials into different bags before the staff comes by to collect.
It’s amazing how much papers/plastic/metal we can collect in 2 weeks’ time without realising.

Recently, my side-kick Ginzy found another place where we can actually sell these recycling materials for cash!
So we decided to bring some stuff over to recycle.
On my side, I brought over 3 bags of old clothes to ‘sell’.
Based on this chart, I got $2.60 for my 3 bags of old clothes that weighed 13kg in all!
Ginzy earned $0.70 for her 7kg of newspapers heh…
They have this poster there to tell you more about why we should practise the 3Rs.
We plan to go for this once every fortnight so that there’s more time for us to collect more recycling materials!
Here’s what we’ve accumulated in just one week!
Everyone of us should do our part in saving the environment, in any ways possible.
Every bit counts, no matter how small.
So let’s start practising the 3Rs if you haven’t already!
It’s never too late! =D

.books.

Ving recently bought some new books from Prologue’s sale! Let me share them with you…

Finally owned my first illustration book from 幾米 (Jimmy Liao, Taiwanese)!
I have always liked his child-like drawings, which actually kind of give me a calm feeling whenever I see them.
Shall slowly collect the rest of the illustration books which he had published.
I have waited for long for the movie to be out, which it will finally be come end August.
Before the show which I had highly anticipated started screening, here are 2 books from the movie to keep me occupied for the time being!
(The ‘book’ in the second image is more of like a postcards collection for the movie.)
I super love the textured cover of this book!! Couldn’t resist from getting it.
It is a dark book though haha… (I am not called Dark Lord for nothing. *evil laughter*)
This series written by Haruki Murakami was not newly bought though.
Being not strong in my Japanese, I got the Mandarin-translated ones instead.
I usually prefer Japanese novels being translated into Mandarin to English, because I can still imagine a strong Japanese feel to the writings.
English-translated ones kind of lose this Japanese feel which I will look for in such books, and simply became “English style” instead.
Having said that, I have only read Book 1 of this 1Q84 series.
It took me a rather long time to finish it, as it was so intense I could not read past a certain number of pages each time.
Till now I still have yet to get started on Book 2.
I wonder when I will. >.<”
Have you read any books lately? Do start on one if you have not.
It is therapeutic!
