BONJOUR!!!
Welcome back, and to the 3rd Episode of the Beauty Series in Mad Season 1!!!

For the previous episode of this Beauty Series, Ving helped Ginzy dyed her hair to try cover the whites.
Since her hair length’s rather short, there was actually still some hairdye left over in the bottle.
Hence for today!!!
Ving attempted this little experiment with the remaining hairdye, while waiting for the hairdye colour to be absorbed onto Ginzy’s hair.

1st Step:
Prepare a pair of fake lashes.
2nd Step:
Apply a thick layer of the hairdye onto the fake lashes.
3rd Step:
Leave it for (the same amount of time as dyeing human hair) the hairdye to get absorbed in.
4th Step:
When the time’s up, rinse off the hairdye.

End result???
Verdict:
Hairdye for human hair isn’t able to be used to dye fake lashes that are made of fibres.
Too bad!!! Now we know hahaha…. >.<”

Do stay tuned for the 3rd Episode of the Cooking Series which will be out on Friday!!!
Kindly support us!!! Thankssssss!!!! *throws fake lashes*

KONNICHIWA!!!

Welcome back, and to the 3rd Episode of the Building Series in our Mad Season 1!!!
Hope you’ve enjoyed checking out all the previous episodes we had so far!!

Ving stumbled upon a Sanrio fair at Takashimaya awhile back, and was elated to find some products of her favourite Sanrio character on discount!! (No. Not Hello Kitty.)
Here’s KUROMI!!!
Some other items which I bought!!
I really like Nanoblock too, so I was so happy when I saw that they were selling Kuromi’s Nanoblock at the Sanrio fair!! Perfect combi for me!!!
So for today!!
Ving will be fixing up Kuromi’s Nanoblock!!!

Here’s the instruction manual provided in the pack.
Not long after…….

TADAH!!!
Super cute!!!
I couldn’t resist taking few more shots of it!
Verdict:
It’s quite easy to fix up, just that you’ll need to be bit careful not to lose any of the pieces as they are kinda tiny.
Another plus point is that in the pack, it does provide you with some extra pieces of the blocks should you happen to lose any.
Start fixing up your Nanoblocks now!!!
Have fun!!!

Do stay tuned for the 3rd Episode of the Beauty Series which will be up on Wednesday!!!

BONJOUR!!!

Welcome back, and to Episode 2 of the Beauty Series in our Mad Season 1!!!
Hope you’ve enjoyed the previous episodes of our various series so far!!!

For today!!!
Ving took up the challenge of helping her sidekick Ginzy (pronounced as Gin-Gee) cover her uncountable amount of white hair with DIY hairdye.
L’oreal recently came up with this new Fashion series of hairdye colors, hence we decided to give it a shot.
Me like the Black+Gold color theme…….
1st Step:
Apply the “Protective Pre-Color Serum” onto dry hair. Leave it in. No need to wash off.

2nd Step:
Mix the “Protective Creme Colorant” and “Creme Developer” together well.

3rd Step:
Put on the plastic gloves that are provided.

4th Step:
Apply the mixture onto hair evenly.
Verdict:
The color actually turns out rather nicely.
However, it doesn’t help much in covering white hair. It only did for the 1st day, but subsequently the white hair became obvious again.
The best color to cover white hair is actually still black color, which can hide white hair for a longer period of time.
This range is still worth a try if you aren’t looking at covering white hair.
Plus it does smell nice too!!

Do stay tuned for the 2nd Episode of our Cooking Series to be out on this Friday!!!

HELLO!!!

Welcome back and to the 2nd series of our Mad Season 1!!!
If you’ve already guessed from the heading, this 2nd series will be about Beauty!!
We’ll be touching on different aspects of Beauty for this series, so we hope it can be like a surprise for you when you come back to check out new episodes (as of the same for the other 2 series too).

For today!!!
Ving recently tried out this Character Print Nail Art set from Korea which was a gift from sidekick Ginzy.
It looks really interesting!

The instructions were in Korean though. But based on the images provided, you’ll be able to understand quite easily the proper way to do this nail art.
So!! Based on my understanding, here’s how we do it……………….

1st step: Apply 2 layers of the white nail polish onto your nails.
2nd step: While waiting for the nail polish to dry, you can cut out small pieces of the pattern design which you would like to have on your nails.
For me, I chose a cupcakes design as well as this cute skulls design (not pictured below).
(Plus a random cameo by Zown de Clown.)
3rd step: Apply the Transfer Solution (hot pink bottle) onto a small piece of the design which you’d cut out earlier (on the side with the pattern). Then press it onto your nail before the solution dries up.

This step’s bit tricky. After I tried on few of my nails, I realised that it’ll be better if you apply a layer of the solution onto the flip side of the patterned paper as well while it’s on your nail.
Reason being that the paper will actually get stuck onto your nails too together with the design.
Applying onto the flip side as well will help the design to get stuck onto your nails better, and reduces the chances of the paper getting stuck together.
Think of it as trying to ‘paste’ those temporary tattoos onto your skin.

Here are the 1st 2 nails which I tried on with the skull pattern, which didn’t come out that nicely and obvious.
After ‘pasting’ on the cupcakes design as well, which not the full pattern came out too.

Conclusion: It’s still worth trying! Just that it’ll require some practise before you’ll be able to get the perfect full pattern onto your nails. Still can be a fun activity for a girly night-in with your girlfriends!! ^_^

Do stay tuned for the 1st episode of our 3rd series which will be up on this Friday!!!

Ving finally went to check out River Safari!!
After a short show, you can take pictures with the Pelicans!
Lotsa different types of fishes you can find here!
Red pandas are super adorable!
Lunch time! Panda buns!
And of ‘cos, we must see Jia Jia & Kai Kai!!!
This is Kai Kai if I didn’t remember wrongly. Jia Jia likes to stay inside instead.

Like a boss!

Panda mascots!!
There are still some parts of River Safari not opened yet.
I would wanna check them out again when they are fully opened!

.mandai.zoo.

http://youtu.be/2_DgKa4VIys
Ving goes to the Zoo!! It’s been super long since I’d last visited, so i was quite excited! >.<
Warning: Beware of an overload of images here, ‘cos I really really love animals!
(Which also means I SUPER CANNOT TOLERATE ANIMAL ABUSE OF ANY SORTS.)
I wanna go for ALL the animal shows!!
Introducing Zee the Monkey, my companion for this zoo trip!
Otters!! Sooo cute and adorable!!

White Tigers!! =D

Kangaroos in “Australian Outback“!!

I forgot what they are. =X
Elephants at Work & Play” show!!
I like elephants ‘cos they are like gentle giants!
They look like they are smiling!

Waiting for “Fragile Forest: Rainforest Fights Back” show to start!
This lemur was right above me!

Monkeys!

Orangutan with a baby on its back!
Snakes!

Ducks!
Storks?
Penguins!! =D

Free-ranging orangutans!
I remember I had breakfast with Ah Meng before, when I was very young, and even sat beside him to take picture together!
So sad it passed away. =(
Inuka, the Polar Bear!
Wolverine! (Nothing like Hugh Jackman heehee…)
Rhinoceros having lunch!
Deers! (Like Bambi!)
Zebras!
One of my favorite animals, giraffes!!!
The middle one reminds me of Kwangsoo! Hahaha! (Running Man fans will know! =P)
Kwangsoo & friends!

King of the jungle!
My other favorite animal. Leopard!!!
Such a beauty!
Ponies in Kidzworld!
You can feed them leaves!
My phone ran out of battery after this!! So I didn’t get to take more pictures. =(
I did, however, manage to catch all 4 of the animal shows!! =D
I’ve shown 2 of them above, while the other 2 were “Animal Friends” show (dogs/cats/parrots) and “Splash Safari” show (super clever sea lion).

It was an awesome trip to the zoo for Ving!!! ^_^

Travelling Ving is back!
This KL short trip actually happened before the recent Hong Kong trip.

We chose Hotel Capitol for its awesome location in Bukit Bintang area, plus with good room rates.
(It’s located just next to Sungei Wang Shopping Centre and Low Yat Plaza, and only a 5-minute walk to Berjaya Times Square, Pavilion, and the Monorail station.)

First meal in KL was at U-Village Hong Kong Restaurant, situated just across our hotel.
Address: LB – R1, Sungei Wang Plaza, Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100
Phone: (+03) 2148-9686
Their char siew is a must-try!
After a hearty lunch, shopping time!
First stop — Berjaya Times Square
Address: 1 Jalan Imbi  55100 Kuala Lumpur

许留山!
As usual, night snacks~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 2’s lunch was at Delicious (there’s an outlet in Singapore’s Scotts Square).
Unfortunately, it wasn’t much of what the name suggests.
Address: Bangsar Village II, 2 Jalan Telawi 1  Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur

We decided to head elsewhere for desserts.
I’d read about this cafe called Antipodean Cafe with rather good reviews, hence gave it a shot.
Address: 20 Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur

Menu on the wall! They are known for their brunch items too.
Lemon Meringue Tart + Sticky Date Pudding. Both SEDAP…….
Bangsar Village is equivalent to our Holland Village, with many cafes/restaurants/bakeries/shop-houses/retail shops.
While exploring the area, we came across this rather cool multi-label boutique called Seethrough.
They carry mainly Asian designers’ stuff, with quite a number of Singapore designers too! (eg. my favorite local label Depression)
Address: 25-1 Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar

Ving bought this skulls-filled punk style pull-over from a Jakarta designer!
It’s a ‘lil too hot for Singapore’s weather though.
I can’t wait to wear it to cooler countries!
Jalan Alor for dinner! Many zi-char stalls for you to choose from.
Rise & shine for Day 3 of the trip!
Lunch was at one of my favorite restaurants in KL. Madam Kwan’s (Pavilion’s outlet)!!!
(This year they opened their very first overseas outlet in Vivo City!)
We actually saw Madam Kwan herself!!! *fangirl mode on*

Address: 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
Belachan. Rendang. Assam. *droolsss*
I’ve no idea what I was doing.
(That dessert’s from Madam Kwan’s, though.)
Shopping time!
I love toys/figurines, if you haven’t already noticed from my previous posts.
(Wait a minute. Have I mentioned about it in my previous posts? Ok whatever. I LOVE TOYS/FIGURINES. There… Now you know.)
I ended up getting this big Line plushie for free! Super cute!
(It’s still in its original box, at a corner of my room. Couldn’t bear to dirty it!)
Batman and Superman (in between the 2 adults) patrolling the city.
Getting ready for Justice League already?
(Pardon the super bad resolution.)
KLCC has this toilet which you’ll need to pay RM2 to enter.
Ving checked it out to see what’s so great about it.
Verdict: If that’s for RM2, Ion Orchard’s toilets can charge each human S$2 to enter.
Last dinner in KL at Kampachi!
Address:
We had the honour to try the King of Tea.
It’s so light, it felt like drinking plain water that’s slightly sweeter.
Real smooth down your throat.
This convenience store opposite our hotel sells past issues of magazines at really cheap prices, even when it’s just past a month.
As usual, I couldn’t resist.
Last meal in KL at U-Village HK Cafe! =(
Sky’s on fire.
Till next time!!! Can’t wait for my next overseas trip already!!!
When’s it gonna be???

Rise & shine for the last day of Ving’s Hong Kong trip!! =(
(You can check out Part 1 of the trip here, Part 2 here, Part 3 here, and Part 4 here.)

For our last lunch in Hong Kong, we went to City Hall Maxim’s Palace for dimsum.
It’s one of the most famous dimsum restaurants in Hong Kong, and has an amazing view of Victoria Harbour.
So try to get window seats if you can!

Address: 1 Edinburgh Place, HK City Hall, 3/F, Central
Station : Central (Exit J3) / Admiralty (Exit B)
Hours : Mon-Sat 11am – 3pm; 530pm – 1130pm / Sun 9am – 3pm; 530pm – 1130pm
Contact: (852) 2521-1303
Me super love this flavorful steamed rice with fish slices.
The egg tarts were a ‘lil disappointing though.
I still very much prefer those traditional crust egg tarts from Tai Cheong Bakery, especially when they are hot from the oven.
You will get a sun rising behind you after eating it. (think cartoon/animation style)
Super sad I didn’t get to try them during this trip! >.<
(If you are interested, here’s the address.
Address: 35 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central
Station: Central (Exit D2)
Hours: Daily 730am – 9pm
Contact: (852) 2544-3475)

We did some last minute shopping at Central and Causeway Bay, before heading back to the hotel to pack them.
I know I know… It’s as if there are no instant noodles being sold back home right??
Time to head for the airport! =(
We went earlier to do a City Check-In at Hong Kong Station (it’s super awesome this idea), then head over to the airport for our last dinner in Hong Kong.

It’s Tsui Wah yet again!
Why do we not have Tsui Wah in Singapore???
It kinda beats all other Hong Kong cafes we have currently.
With some time to kill before boarding, I had to go over to one of my must-go places:
Magazines stand.
I couldn’t resist not getting any.
For the Hong Kong edition ones, they can cost at least 2.5 times cheaper than what they are being sold back home!
And I’m a fan of Milk Magazine!
I love magazines. I’ve got piles of them in my room.
My mum always says “If you can turn your magazines into cash, you’ll be filthy rich.”
I agree with her, totally.

Still enough time for a drink first before going in.
In case you would like to know, Starbucks’ drinks are generally about 25% cheaper than that in Singapore.
While we were about to go in, we happened to hear some young girls screaming and waving bye to someone who was already inside.
We later found out that it was actually the Korean girl group, After School (I only know Uee from that group).
Turned out they just had a fan-meeting session in Hong Kong.
We didn’t get to see them though after we went in (not that I’m interested haha =X).
If it had been 2NE1 instead, I might have broken Usain Bolt’s 100m World/Olympic records.

We were greeted by these very traditional Chinese displays while waiting at our departure gate to board the plane.
Kinda cool idea for passengers to kill time while waiting, and get to know more about Chinese customs/traditions.
I shall end my last part on this Hong Kong trip with a continuation of narcissism from the previous post.
Till next time!!!!! *throws confetti*

Rise & shine for Day 4 of Ving’s Hong Kong trip!!
(You can check out Part 1 of the trip here, Part 2 here, and Part 3 here.)

We decided to have Korean food again for our first meal of the day, at Sorabol Korean Restaurant.
No regrets for our choice! Was glad we didn’t give this a miss.

Address: 132 Nathan Road, Miramar Shopping Centre, 4/F, Shop 4B, Tsim Sha Tsui
Station : Tsim Sha Tsui (Exit B2)
Hours : Daily 1130am – 3pm; 6pm – 11pm
Contact: (852) 2881-6823
It’s like The Hand from Addams Family was enjoying Korean food.
Clearer picture of the Spicy Seafood Soup pot we ordered + the Banchan (side dishes).
Omggg I’m missing the delish soup pot badly….
Can’t be helped. I’m an Asian after all.
What to do after a hearty meal? Shopping of ‘cos!!!
We went around Tsim Sha Tsui, including Grandville Road.
Although we were very full, we couldn’t resist not eating these when in Hong Kong………

And it rained!!! Luckily I brought my brolly out, but we still ended up being ‘lil drenched grrr………….
We were such gluttons, but how can you NOT eat dessertsss when in Hong Kong???
So it’s to Sweet Dynasty while waiting for the rain to get lighter.

Address: 28 Hankow Road, Hong Kong Pacific Centre, B/F, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
Station : Tsim Sha Tsui (Exit A1)
Hours : Mon-Thu 8am – 12am / Fri 8am – 1am / Sat 730am – 1am / Sun 730am – 12am
Contact: (852) 2199-7799
Their desserts were rather yummy!
Thanks, but no thanks to the rain!
We decided to head back to Causeway Bay for more exploring and of ‘cos, SHOPPING.
Guess what greeted us the moment we stepped out of the station??
DEMONSTRATION……….!
I could see no end…
(Here’s a short clip which I took of it.)
Today’s stash! (mainly gifts to bring back home)
Those Pretz were of interesting Hongkie flavors:
Abalone in Oyster Sauce / Shark’s Fin / Seafood
Good to buy back for friends and family! ‘Cos they were packed in nice individual boxes of smaller size.
Here’s a closer look at the small packs.
After putting down our buys back in the hotel room, we decided to pop over to Lan Kwai Fong’s Tsui Wah Cha Chan Teng again for some *ahem* supper recharging.
It’s just about a 15 minutes walk from our hotel! *thumbs up*
I shall be narcissistic today, and end off my post with a victoriously smirk picture of myself.
(p.s.: that’s my super-loves new cap from Izzue!)
Do check back again on next Monday for the last part of Ving’s Hong Kong trip!! *cheersss* ^_^
